Madison & Derek | Wedding at The Atrium - Malorie Jane Photography

Madison and Derek’s spring wedding at The Atrium took place on a very windy, but sunny 70 degree day in May day. I had the pleasure of traveling to South Dakota for this gorgeous wedding day. Photography gives me opportunities to explore new places and reconnect with old friends, and I’m forever grateful for that.

I have been friends with Madison since we were 5 years old, so to be able to capture my friend marry the love of her life is truly such a blessing. Madison is a speech language pathologist at a local hospital and Derek is an outside sales rep at United Rentals. They enjoy spending time together along with their friends. They play in a summer volleyball league together and love playing with their puppy, Murphy. I can personally say how perfect these two are for each other. They have the same sense of humor and truly bring out the best in one another.

I loved getting to work at the venue, The Atrium at Blue Haven. Not only was the staff extremely friendly and helpful, but the venue is outstandingly beautiful. The entire venue is all white with windows everywhere to bring in the natural light. My favorite images from the day are the getting ready images because the energy from the morning was joyous and filled with so much excitement for Madison and Derek’s day.

The reception was another highlight. It was so fun and energetic. Madison and her dad event busted out to a hip hop dance for their first dance.
