1st Birthday Cake Smash

I am so excited to share this 1st Birthday Cake Smash session at Brooke Elizabeth Studio with you today! I have worked with the Becker family since their son, Zachary, was born. Kayla and Andy asked me to capture Zach’s newborn, 6 month, 9 month, and 1 year portraits. I absolutely love when couples invest in family photos especially during their baby’s first year of life because they grow so much during this time. There is something special about seeing your little one grow and how your family evolves at every sweet milestone.

1st Birthday Cake Smash – Brooke Elizabeth Studio

During any 1st birthday cake smash, I love to start with the traditional family pictures and continue to add on elements such as balloons, decorations, other outfits, and then end with the cake or something sweet. We first added on balloons during Zach’s session and he absolutely loved it! Zach had an outfit change before we brought out the cake. It is great to have two outfits for your little one for their session because it ultimately gives you a variety at your session. For the 1st birthday session, we will always end with the cake smash because of the mess it can create haha! It is always fun to see their reaction to enjoying their cake.

To the Becker Family, thank you so much for allowing me to capture these precious memories for you! Your family is so sweet and it was great getting to know you all over this past year. I can’t wait to see you all continue to grow together!
